Dale Pellow Dale Pellow, Chief Operating Officer
Dale provides guidance and support to all six HSW regional offices. He serves on the Board of Directors where he champions a viable growth strategy that increases operational effectiveness and local community involvement in each regional office. For the period of 10 years prior to his promotion to COO, Dale held the position of Vice President and Regional Manager for what has become one of the most successful business units in the Company. Dale has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon. He has more than 20 years of construction experience and has provided oversight on many successful projects along the West Coast.
Jim Constance Jim Constance, Chief Financial Officer
With more than 32 years in the construction industry, Jim’s understanding of financial matters coupled with a strong construction background make him a formidable source of financial and technical knowledge. Jim and his staff provide the decision makers throughout the company with financial information and analysis tools needed to make the best business decisions. He is responsible for all risk assessment and financial management. Jim is a leader in the industry and has written many articles for national construction periodicals. Jim has a Bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Nebraska.
 
Steve Mara Steve Mara, President/Regional Manager, Seattle Region
Steve is the Regional Manager for the Washington region.  He is a construction professional whose career began as a carpenter in Minnesota. Steve has worked as a commercial contractor for over 25 years, starting in estimating and then transitioning from project management to the executive level. A unique combination of field experience, onsite project management and business operations provides him with the expertise to assist clients in the delivery of highly successful projects.
Frank Pierson Frank Pierson, Vice President/Regional Manager, Portland Region
As Regional Manager for the Oregon region, Frank is responsible for establishing and implementing this region’s strategic plan. He provides hands-on leadership and works closely with each project team in budgeting, scheduling, constructability, and project execution. Frank’s background in estimating and project management provides him with an unparalleled ability to match programming with budget considerations. Frank joined Howard S. Wright directly upon graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s of Science in Building Construction in 1989. He worked in our Seattle office before moving to the Portland office in 1996.
Jim Cardin Jim Cardin, Vice President/Regional Manager, Sacramento Region
Jim possesses a vast array of knowledge and experience garnered from his nearly 30 years of service in all facets of the construction industry. Before joining the Howard S. Wright team nine years ago, Jim spent 12 years owning and operating his own construction firm. Jim's dynamic technical knowledge acquired during his service as both Superintendent and General Superintendent for Howard S. Wright is impressive at all levels. Among his many responsibilities, Jim values most the opportunity to lead by example.
Don Trainor Don Trainor, Vice President/Regional Manager, San Francisco Region
As the leader of the San Francisco region, Don provides extensive experience in hotel renovation, as well as ground-up hospitality, parking, retail, office, mixed-use and commercial projects. Prior to joining us in 2002, he was Vice President of Construction for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants Group. Well-versed in estimating all facets of construction and performing pre-construction services, Don offers 28 years of valued experience in the construction industry. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Washington State University, in Pullman, WA.
Joe Martino Joe Martino, Vice President/Regional Manager, Southern California Region
Joe’s unconventional entrance into the construction industry transpired over 26 years ago beneath the chilly waters of Seattle where he earned his Degree in Underwater Construction. As Southern California's Regional Manager, Joe continues to propel his way through the industry with that very same innovative, hands-on approach. His diverse background lends a fresh perspective to the preconstruction, construction, construction management, design-build and design-assist components of today’s commercial building industry. Since joining the organization in 2005, he has used his vast experience to continue to meet and exceed client expectations.
  
Stephen Hulston

Stephen Hulston, Vice President/Regional Manager, Phoenix Region
Stephen has held progressively responsible positions with Howard S. Wright, from Project Manager in Seattle to Chief Estimator/Preconstruction and Regional Manager for the Phoenix region. Stephen came to us in 1993 after six years of service with a New Zealand based company, Fletcher Construction. While at Fletcher Construction, Stephen played an integral role in the completion of many projects in Singapore and Guam. His project experience includes large commercial projects as well as a wide range of unique projects in telecommunications, hospitality, industrial, retail and public works facilities. Stephen holds an MBA from Massey University in New Zealand, as well as degrees in both structural and civil engineering from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand.
