Macy's at SanTan

HSW completed the first of an entirely new prototype store for Macy’s at SanTan Village in Gilbert, Arizona. This 120,000 sf store included the construction of concrete tilt wall panels and structural steel framing. The main entry is a grand expanse of steel and curtain wall glass that complement the retail street construction. Because this new, single-story, stand-alone facility is the first of its kind, HSW had the opportunity to work with Macy’s to provide several solutions to challenges that arose throughout construction. One example is the integral support system our team produced for the backlit exterior signage which ensures a watertight building envelope.  This and several other innovative solutions will be used in other Macy’s stores that follow this same prototype. HSW received many compliments from Macy's Executives, the Developer, and the Town of Gilbert Inspectors.
